Hero without a Class - Ep. 1-3
Man...I feel like I've watched this anime somewhere else before
So I'm a little...late to starting watching this (Ep. 7 came out recently) but I figured I would watch the first few episodes and see how it is.
Ep. 1
OP
Pretty mid...Not the worst OP ever (looking at you 'Salary-man gets drafted to the demon lord army') but prolly will get the skip on each subsequent episode.
Ep. 1
I ended up having to restart this episode, I kept feeling this sense of deja-vu as if had watched this before. Is it an isekai? A power fantasy?
Right off the bat we get hit with the "His sister is madly in love with him", and if I didn't know any better I would bet money she has a bang clock in her room with his face on the 12 o'clock position.
Of course, our "Hero" is Classless...but knowing the power of the weeb his Class is actually some super rare one that the local priest can't read with his middle of the road mind reading powers. It is nice that his family is willing to take care of him even though he is classless, however of course his mother has beat swordsmanship into him. I will say I was a little surprised the red-headed swordsman beat our "hero" Arel, most of the time in anime like this our Main Man is always Overpowered beyond belief for no reason...I say but a few minutes prior they did say our Leading Laddie has literal plot armor (the Godess' Divine Protection)
Anyways...Im assuming Mr Redhead is going to end up as a lifelong rival of Arel here (Are we getting a timeskip? I feel like a timeskip is coming) and will end up in an adventuring party together at some point, that or he will end up betraying him somehow down the road.
Ahh so Arel can learn skills via taking hits from them, which is definitely a way to learn abilities. It reminds me of Maple's (Bofuri) broken way of gaining skills and I am sure this won't turn into some cheat way for him to get crazy strong crazy fast.
And here we are, Mr Red Hair is near dead and Arel has to save him using the skill he beat Arel up with earlier. The sure telegraphed that one from a football field away.
So his class must be like...Mirror Man or something since he can "learn" skills by watching others, if I had to guess.
And the episode ends with Arel humbling his new rival, so I'm sure they will be lifelong rivals now...as he leaves to train in a city far away from our Main Character.
ED
Pretty forgettable overall...so forgettable I stopped watching to finish this post up and see WE ARE GETTING THAT TIME SKIP! Was it shown in the OP? I sure don't know! So is Arel's rival a girl then? I still didn't catch what their name is besides "Evan's Little One" but they sure look feminine in the ED there.
Oh...of course he gets a slime too.
Overall Thoughts for Ep. 1:
Pretty generic pseudo-Isekai, which this genre has been on the rise lately. I assume its due to people being burned out from straight Isekai trash (even though we still get that every season). It may be something I end up waiting on the dub to get released and then watch it while doing other things...we'll see how the next few episodes go
Ep.2
Episode 2 was...Interesting
We finally got the name of Arel's rival (Reiner? Reinier? Something of the sort) and it's shown that Arel will do anything to help those in need. We also got a 5 year timeskip that was shown in the ED and they showed a "small" amount of training with his mom but of course he is now Overpowered as can be, and of course the only guild that will accept him is the same one his rival from childhood is apart of. It looks like the hook now is "Arel gotta win fights and recruit members" which there is no way he won't complete.
Hopefully some interesting developments happen in the next episode or two, otherwise this anime may be destined to the drop list.
Ep. 3
So...This show doesn't really have a whole lot going on I feel like. It really falls into the "turn your brain off and enjoy what's going on" so...Once the anime has fully aired I will go ahead and make a final post with my thoughts on the show overall
